In June 2012 it was published the Technical Report CEN/TR 16355:2012, Recommendations for prevention of Legionella growth in installations inside buildings conveying water for human consumption. This document gives recommendations for good practice concerning the prevention of Legionella growth in drinking water installations, although the current national regulations will remain in force.
This report, focuses on controlling the proliferation of the bacteria by thermal disinfection. However, it does not exclude other treatments such as those included in the Technical Report UNE 100030 IN.
AFTA has drawn up a brief notification to introduce the main causes of infection, and to review the different treatments and their influence on conveying installations.
The notification is avalaible in the web site section Other Publications.
