Prevention of Legionella Growth

After the publication of the Spanish Royal Decree 865/2003, AFTA needed to test that the manufactured products are able and suitable to endure the desinfection methods described in the Royal Decree.

Therefore, the Analytic Chemistry Department of the Univiersity of the Basque Country, was entrusted with the following investigations:

– Thermal Stability of the Zinc Coating, for hot dip galvanized steel tubes and cast iron fittings, after the thermal desinfection treatments described in the Royal Decree 865/2003 (Annex 3).

–  Chemical Stability of the Zinc Coating, for hot dip galvanized steel tubes and cast iron fittings after the chemical desinfection treatments described in the Royal Decree 865/2003 (Annex 3).
