We offer hereby a summary of the best news that have been published in our Social Network profiles in February.

V Congress of Legionella and Environmental Quality

The V Congress of Legionella and Environmental Quality will take place on February 6th and 7th 2013 in Terrassa. This event, organized by the center CRESCA ( (Centre de Recerca en Seguretat i Control Alimentari) of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, is a space for debate about scientific knowledge and current legislation on legionellosis, indoor air quality and environmental quality produced by cleaning and disinfection.

In connection with this Congress, last June it was published the Technical Report CEN / TR 16355:2012, Recommendations for prevention of  Legionella growth in installations inside buildings conveying water for human consumption. On the occasion of the publication, AFTA issued a statement that you can read through the following link.

ICEX starts the “CONECTA” programme

ICEX starts from November the “CONECTA” programme through which it will possible to hold personalised video conferences with experts of the ICEX in the Spanish outside network for Economic and Commercial Offices. Therefore any market doubt will be directly solved: standardization, distribution, labelling, fairs, implementation, tenders, etc.

The Spanish Commercial Offices in China, Ukraine, Algeria, Chile, Vietnam, India, Croatia, the Philippines, Brussels, Washington. Thailand, United Emirates, Morocco, Mexico and Panama will be connected from November 26th to 29th , from the Local Trading Head Office – ICEX in Bilbao, C/ Colón de Larreategui, 26 – 2º B.

25 years from the first UNE Standard

The first UNE standard was published 25 years ago. It is UNE 37137-87: Carbon steel bands, hot-dip galvanized, with specific yield strength.

This standard have experimented several changes since then. Nowadays, the current standard is the UNE EN 10346: Continuosly hot-dip coated steel flat roducts. Technical delivery conditions.

To celebrate this anniversary, AENOR has uploaded a commemorative video in its Youtube channel.

Due to the close bonds that connect us to AENOR, as well as to the carbon steel products, from AFTA we offer our own tribute to the first UNE Standard.
